SSHA Petition for Excess Units

Use this form if you are requesting to enroll in up to 20 units in a Fall or Spring semester or up to 16 units in a Summer semester at UC Merced.

Before submitting this form, please be aware of the following information:

Students applying to enroll in excess units must have a minimum 3.0 cumulative GPA or a 3.3 GPA in their last completed semester (not including Summer)
- If you do not meet the GPA requirement listed above OR you are seeking to enroll in more than 20 units for a Fall/Spring semester or more than 16 units for a Summer semester, Dean approval is required. Submit the SSHA General Petition Form to request approval.

You must list the subject code (i.e. COGS, PSY, MATH, etc.) and the course number (i.e. 001, 005, 130, etc.) of all the courses you plan to enroll in. Please do not list course titles only (i.e. Human Psychology, Sociocultural Anthropology, Calculus, etc.).
