The Bus

UC Merced Students can ride The Bus for free by swiping their UC Merced Student Cat Card on all bus routes. Visit their website for available routes. Students can also track the bus anytime!


WIC

WIC Services include:

  • Practical nutrition information and everyday healthy living tips for you and your family. 
  • Nutrition experts who specialize in nutrition for mothers and their children.
  • Support and information about breastfeeding your baby, including access to breastfeeding experts.
  • Help in finding health care and other valuable community services
  • Benefits to buy healthy foods.

You may qualify if you:

  • Are pregnant, breastfeeding, just had a baby (or recent pregnancy loss); or
  • Have a child or care for a child under age 5; and
  • Have low-to-medium income or receive Medi-Cal, CalWORKs (TANF), or CalFresh (SNAP) benefits; and
  • Live in California

Medi-Cal

Medi-Cal is a free or low-cost health coverage that is available for California residents who are eligible. Click here to learn more.


Merced County Food Bank

MCFB’s mission is to improve the health and well-being of Merced & Mariposa County residents affected by hunger; through the acquisition, storage, and distribution of nutritious food.


Valley Crisis Center Merced

Valley Crisis Center and their associated programs seek to prevent domestic and sexual violence, and human trafficking by advocating for positive changes in the societal systems that may lead to oppression, fostering a better understanding of domestic and sexual violence, and human trafficking through community education, and providing culturally relevant direct services that empower victims of abuse and their children.


County of Merced Department of Mental Health

A variety of mental health and substance abuse programs are available to consumers in Merced County. The County of Merced Department of Mental Health is able to provide a selection of services to children, youth, adults, and their families.


Planned Parenthood

Planned Parenthood is one of the nation’s leading providers of high-quality, affordable health care, and the nation’s largest provider of sex education. With or without insurance, you can always visit them for your health care.


Gift From Within - PTSD Advice & Support

Gift From Within stands as a sanctuary of help and hope. Their mission is to provide comprehensive advice, resources, and support to those grappling with PTSD. Recognizing the complexities of this condition, they offer a range of materials and guidance designed to cater to the diverse experiences and healing journeys of PTSD survivors


Jessica's House

At Jessica’s House, they create a safe place for children, teens, young adults and their families who are grieving a death. During a time of unimaginable loss, Jessica’s House provides peer support in a safe place for children, teens, young adults and their families, by providing moments of connection, expression through art and play, and opportunities to share and practice coping skills. These groups are provided at no charge to families thanks to generous private support from our community.


Student Discounts

Save money and get discounts when you show your CatCard in areas offered to UC Merced students and employees.

Your CatCard may also be a discount card at participating CATSPOTS locations and businesses in the greater Merced community.
