Students who have been removed from a major at UC Merced for academic reasons must meet the following requirements in order to petition to be re-admitted to the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts:
- Cumulative University of California grade-point average of at least 2.0
- Current semester grade-point average of at least 2.0
- Complete all lower-division major preparatory courses with a C- or better and have a 2.5 grade-point average in all SSHA courses
