Jocelyn Morales

Education: Management and Business Economics, Double Major in Political Science 

 I chose SSHA because, as a first generation student I am passionate about helping others grow academically and connecting them with campus resources to enrich their journey at UC Merced both professionaly and personally.

Something I enjoy doing is hiking, watching sunsets at the beach, and rating as many matcha places as I can. 

 

Anna Eastridge

Education: Global Arts With a Visual Emphasis

 I chose SSHA because I wanted a department with a lot of possibilities. I find that I am feeling most fulfilled when I am helping others. Naturally, as a peer navigator I am not only advising my fellow cohorts, but I am strengthening my own knowledge. 

Something I enjoy doing is painting and playing the Sims(4 or 3).

I enjoy being able to help others and SSHA gives me the opportunity to do that and learn new things. SSHA also provides on campus resources that I have used, and I wanted to be a part of that.  

I enjoy watching sequels and prequels of an original movie

Hans Fox

Education: Literatures in English

 I chose SSHA because I had a lot of trouble figuring out what classes I needed to take and what major was best for me in my first year. Now I feel compelled to help other people through these problems so that they don't have to struggle alone.

Something I enjoy doing is writing, recording, and performing my own music. I also like to read boring books.

 

Juan Ramirez

Education: Psychology

 I chose SSHA given of their opportunities to learn and grow within the community but as well throughout. Being able to help and assist people of the available resources provided and giving quality advice. Helping while as learning at the same time.

Something I enjoy doing is going out to explore new places and foods, while learning about the background of those regions/areas. Particularly in the outdoors or on new cities that I have never been to before.

 

Nayelyi Salazar

Education: Public Health, Pre-Med Emphasis and Spanish Minor

 I chose SSHA because I was presented with the opportunity to bridge the gap between two areas I am passionate about, which are public health and medicine. I am fortunate to have a major under SSHA allowing me to pursue both. Additionally, as a Peer Navigator, I have come to appreciate what SSHA does for all their students; it does not go unnoticed!

Something I enjoy doing is listening to old songs. Lately, I have been drawn back to the nostalgia of each song and what they mean to me at this time in my life.

Education: Anthropology and Critical Race and Ethnic Studies

 I chose SSHA because I wanted to be in a department that allowed me to learn while I teach. I wanted to apply the knowledge that I’ve acquired over the years to become a potential resource for students in need. Becoming a Peer Navigator gives me the opportunity to work in an environment that is both educationally and professionally fulfilling. 

Something I enjoy doing is watching movies/anime or playing video games. I also like to go horseback riding whenever I can.
