SSHA Multiple Major Application Packet Submission

Use this webform to request to declare a multiple major if your primary major is in the School of Social Sciences, Humanities and Arts. 

If you are a first-year traditional, an undeclared transfer student, or if your primary major is housed in the School of Engineering or the School of Natural Sciences, please review the applicable multiple major declaration information below: 

Before submitting this form, please be aware of the following information: 

  • Eligibility criteria for declaring Multiple Majors:  
    • Sophomore or Junior class standing 
      • Students in senior standing (more than 90 units earned) should meet with their academic advisor prior to submitting to confirm possibility of meeting normal progress 
    • At least one completed semester at UC Merced 
    • WRI 010 or equivalent completed 
    • Minimum 2.7 UC GPA and good academic standing 
    • At least 2 courses completed in each major 
  • Complete the Multiple Major Application Packet. Any missing information or documentation may delay the review or require resubmission of the packet. 
    • The School Dean and Academic Advisor signatures will be acquired as part of the remaining approval process, once submitted 

 
*Processing Time: Generally, 4-8 weeks. *Processing times vary and may be longer during busy times of the semester.
