Spanish Placement Exam
Who needs to take the Spanish Placement Exam?
Required for all students, including transfer students, who plan to:
- Enroll in a Spanish course and have previously studied the language;
- Major in History, Spanish, or English and have not completed a year of college-level language; or
- Pursue a minor in Spanish
The Spanish Placement exam is online, and time may vary based on your knowledge (20-30 minutes). The Spanish Placement Exam is not designed for heritage speakers; native-Spanish speakers should contact SSHA advising for appropriate course placement. Students should read the SSHA Language Placement Guidelines.

French Placement Exam
